Paetzold by Kunath developed a telescopic floor spike for their bass, great bass and contrabass recorders. The spike enables the player to stand and play without resorting to balancing the instrument precariously on a variety of cases and boxes! Being telescopic it also allows the tenor, bass and great bass to be played while seated regardless of chair height. The unit is easily fitted and removed using the clamping miniwing nuts.
